Meduo: Family Health Companion

Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

In short

  • Your health information stays on your devices and in your own iCloud account.
  • The developer does not collect, receive, or have access to any of it.
  • Meduo has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to Meduo: Family Health Companion (the "App") for iPhone and iPad, created by Alexander Rohr (the "Developer").

Information you enter

Meduo stores the information you enter, such as medications, appointments, lab results, journal entries, allergies, vaccinations, and emergency contacts, for you and for anyone you add to the App.

This information is stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on, it is also synced through your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so it is available on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Data in your private iCloud database is managed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. The Developer cannot see or access it.

Meduo does not operate any servers, and the App does not send your information to the Developer or to any third party.

Information collected automatically

The App does not collect usage statistics, device identifiers, IP addresses, or location, and it does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software.

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may provide the Developer with anonymous crash reports and performance data. These reports do not include your health information. You can turn this off at any time in the same settings screen.

Device permissions

Meduo asks for permission before using these features. Each one is optional and can be changed in Settings at any time.

  • Camera: to scan medication barcodes and set profile photos. Images are processed on your device and are not uploaded.
  • Calendar: to add your appointments to your calendar.
  • Notifications: to remind you about medications and appointments.
  • Face ID, Touch ID, or Optic ID: to lock the App. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device, and Meduo never receives it.

When you search for a pharmacy, your search text is sent to Apple Maps to suggest locations. This is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Sharing your information

Your information is shared only when you choose to share it, for example by exporting a PDF health summary or emailing a journal entry. Where it goes is up to you.

Purchases

Meduo Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. The Developer does not receive your payment information.

Children's information

Meduo lets parents and caregivers keep health records for children and others in their care. That information is entered by the parent or caregiver and stays on their devices and in their iCloud account. The Developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Keeping and deleting your information

Your information stays in the App until you delete it. You can delete individual records or people in the App. To remove everything, delete the App and remove Meduo's data from iCloud in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.

Because the Developer never receives your information, there is nothing held by the Developer to delete.

Security

Your data is protected by your device's security and by iCloud's encryption. Meduo can also require Face ID, Touch ID, or Optic ID each time it opens. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your device passcode and Apple Account protected.

Links to other sites

The App and this website may link to other websites. Those sites are not operated by the Developer, and their own privacy policies apply.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
