These terms apply to MealBound (the "App") for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, created by Alexander Rohr (the "Developer"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
These terms supplement Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies to your use of the App.
Imported recipes and food safety
MealBound can import recipes from websites and photos, and lets you discover recipes from third-party databases. These imports are automatic and may contain mistakes. Always review a recipe's ingredients, quantities, and instructions before cooking or saving it.
The Developer does not write, verify, or endorse recipes you import or discover, and is not responsible for their accuracy, nutritional information, or suitability for any allergy, diet, or health condition.
You are responsible for food safety when shopping, storing, and preparing any meal.
Your information
Information you enter is stored on your device and, if iCloud is turned on, in your own iCloud account. The Developer does not receive or store it. See the Privacy Policy for details.
You are responsible for keeping your device, passcode, and Apple Account secure. Jailbreaking your device removes security protections and may cause the App to stop working correctly.
MealBound Pro
The App is free to download, with a free tier of up to 20 recipes. MealBound Pro is a one-time in-app purchase of $4.99 that unlocks unlimited recipes, Auto-Plan, recipe discovery and import, and printing.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- MealBound Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It does not renew or expire.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You agree not to copy, modify, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, or to create derivative works from it, except as allowed by law.
Intellectual property
The App and its design, software, text, and images are owned by the Developer and protected by intellectual property laws. The MealBound name and icon may not be used without permission. Recipes you import remain subject to their original source's own rights and terms.
Internet connection
Recipe entry, your meal plan, and your grocery lists work without an internet connection. iCloud sync, URL import, and Discover Recipes need one, and your mobile carrier's data charges may apply.
Third-party services
The App uses services provided by Apple, including iCloud, Reminders, and the App Store, as well as third-party recipe services including TheMealDB and Spoonacular for Discover Recipes, and whatever website you choose for URL import. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. The App and this website may also link to other websites that the Developer does not control.
Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The Developer does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information stored in it will always be available, accurate, or complete. Keep your own copies of recipes you care about, for example by printing or emailing them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data or other losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including from a recipe imported or discovered through the App.
Changes to the App and these terms
The Developer may update, change, or stop offering the App or its features at any time. These terms may also be updated from time to time, and changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising under these terms are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in the relevant territory.
