BudgetXP+ for iPhone, iPad & Mac

Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

In short

  • Your financial information stays on your devices and in your own iCloud account.
  • The developer does not collect, receive, or have access to any of it.
  • BudgetXP+ has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to BudgetXP+: Personal Finance for iPhone and iPad and BudgetXP+ Desktop for Mac (together, the "App"), created by Alexander Rohr (the "Developer"). Both apps share the same account data over iCloud and the same privacy practices described here.

Information you enter

BudgetXP+ stores the information you enter, such as accounts, transactions, budgets, categories, and recurring bills or income. On Mac, this also includes business contacts you add in the Contact Manager, which can optionally store a phone number, URL, username, and password for that contact.

This information is stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on, it is also synced through your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so it is available on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account, including BudgetXP+ Desktop on Mac. Data in your private iCloud database is managed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. The Developer cannot see or access it.

BudgetXP+ does not operate any servers, and the App does not send your information to the Developer or to any third party.

Information collected automatically

The App does not collect usage statistics, device identifiers, IP addresses, or location, and it does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software.

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may provide the Developer with anonymous crash reports and performance data. These reports do not include your financial information. You can turn this off at any time in the same settings screen.

Device permissions

BudgetXP+ asks for permission before using these features. Each one is optional and can be changed in Settings at any time.

  • Camera (iPhone & iPad): to capture a photo of a receipt when you add a transaction. Images are processed on your device and are not uploaded.
  • Notifications (iPhone & iPad): to remind you when a recurring bill or paycheck is due.
  • Face ID or Touch ID (iPhone & iPad): to lock the App. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device, and BudgetXP+ never receives it.
  • File access (Mac): BudgetXP+ Desktop can read and write only the CSV files you choose, to import or export your data. It does not browse the rest of your Mac.

Sharing your information

Your information is shared only when you choose to share it, for example by exporting your transaction history to CSV. Where it goes from there is up to you.

Purchases

BudgetXP+ Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. The Developer does not receive your payment information.

Keeping and deleting your information

Your information stays in the App until you delete it. You can delete individual accounts or transactions in the App. To remove everything, delete the App and remove BudgetXP+'s data from iCloud in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.

Because the Developer never receives your information, there is nothing held by the Developer to delete.

Security

Your data is protected by your device's security and by iCloud's encryption. On iPhone and iPad, BudgetXP+ can also require Face ID or Touch ID each time it opens. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your device passcode and Apple Account protected.

Links to other sites

The App and this website may link to other websites. Those sites are not operated by the Developer, and their own privacy policies apply.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
