Effective October 1, 2026
These terms apply to BudgetXP+: Personal Finance for iPhone and iPad and BudgetXP+ Desktop for Mac (together, the "App"), created by Alexander Rohr (the "Developer"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
These terms supplement Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies to your use of the App.
Not financial advice
BudgetXP+ is a personal budgeting and record-keeping tool. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified financial professional.
BudgetXP+ does not connect to your bank and does not import transactions automatically. Account balances, budgets, and reports are only as accurate as the information you enter.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for your own financial decisions.
Your information
Information you enter is stored on your device and, if iCloud is turned on, in your own iCloud account. The Developer does not receive or store it. See the Privacy Policy for details.
You are responsible for keeping your device, passcode, and Apple Account secure. Jailbreaking your device removes security protections and may cause the App to stop working correctly.
BudgetXP+ Pro
The App is free to download, with a free tier of up to 3 accounts and 50 transactions. BudgetXP+ Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited accounts and transactions: $1.99 on iPhone and iPad, and $12.99 on Mac, reflecting the Desktop app's additional reporting, import, and reconciliation features. A purchase on one platform does not unlock Pro on the other.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- BudgetXP+ Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It does not renew or expire.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You agree not to copy, modify, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, or to create derivative works from it, except as allowed by law.
Intellectual property
The App and its design, software, text, and images are owned by the Developer and protected by intellectual property laws. The BudgetXP+ name and icon may not be used without permission.
Internet connection
Most of the App works without an internet connection. iCloud sync needs one, and your mobile carrier's data charges may apply.
Third-party services
The App uses services provided by Apple, including iCloud and the App Store. Those services are governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policies. The App and this website may also link to other websites that the Developer does not control.
Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The Developer does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that information stored in it will always be available, accurate, or complete. Keep your own copies of important financial records, for example by exporting a CSV of your transaction history.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, financial loss, or other losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
Changes to the App and these terms
The Developer may update, change, or stop offering the App or its features at any time. These terms may also be updated from time to time, and changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising under these terms are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in the relevant territory.
